The Confederation of Horticulture Associations of India (CHAI), an ISO-9001:2015 certified non-profit organization established in 2011, is dedicated to advancing horticulture and agriculture through research, education, and development. CHAI encourages organizations and individuals to collaborate in pursuit of this mission. With the specific aim of strengthening, coordinating, and facilitating grass-root policies for integrated development both nationally and internationally, CHAI is steadily emerging as a think-tank and consultative body nationally and internationally.
CHAI's mission includes serving as a platform to provide critical inputs to public policy on major issues concerning rural economic development and promoting rural India's growth in a global context. CHAI is also committed to capacity building at all levels, striving to achieve technology-led development by exploring and providing innovative solutions. CHAI consistently works towards its set goals and commitments in the realm of horticulture and agriculture.
To facilitate information and knowledge exchange, CHAI organizes national and international conferences and workshops. CHAI also disseminates knowledge through publications like books, journals, reports, and newsletters, including the semi-annual International Journal of Innovative Horticulture. CHAI has instituted numerous awards to promote innovation and excellence, and offers several fellowship categories. Dr. H.P. Singh, recognized globally for his outstanding contributions to horticulture and agriculture, serves as CHAI's Founder and Chairman.
