Driving Impact Across the Value Chain
From grassroots farmer workshops in Bihar and Karnataka to high-level policy dialogues in New Delhi, CHAI operates a multi-pronged strategy to catalyze horticultural excellence. Our programs are designed to foster synergy among science, enterprise, and governance.
National Conferences & Workshops
CHAI organizes annual national conferences that bring together leading researchers, educators, extension workers, and industry representatives. These events serve as powerful forums for knowledge exchange, policy deliberation, and professional networking.
Publications & Knowledge Dissemination
CHAI disseminates knowledge through its flagship journal (IJIHL), the reflective publication Shodh Chintan, annual yearbooks, and comprehensive reports. These publications reach members, libraries, institutions, and policymakers nationally and internationally.
Awards & Fellowships Program
CHAI annually recognizes outstanding contributions to horticulture and agriculture through a comprehensive suite of awards and fellowships, honoring scientists, extension workers, innovators, farmers, and young researchers.
Policy Advocacy & Think-Tank Advisory
CHAI engages with national ministries, planning bodies, and international agencies to provide expert inputs on horticultural policy, rural development strategy, and agricultural research priorities. CHAI positions itself as a credible voice in shaping the enabling environment for horticulture growth.
International Engagement & Linkages
CHAI maintains active linkages with international horticultural organizations, facilitates participation of Indian scientists in global events, and promotes India's horticultural achievements on the world stage. The JISL Fellowship supports young scientists to attend international conferences.
Capacity Building & Skill Upgradation
Through workshops, training programs, and mentorship initiatives, CHAI works to build professional capacity at all levels — from grassroots extension workers to senior researchers and policymakers.
